This design began as a feasibility report for a small business owner in a rapidly-growing D.C. neighborhood. The report includes a potential design for a 4 story apartment building addition above an existing business, with plans for possible room arrangements & descriptions of local building & zoning considerations.
The apartment building navigates a particularly narrow site to deliver multiple apartment sizes. A central light well through the building not only provides daylighting to each apartment, but also provides natural light to the building's shared corridor - often a space relegated to the dim interior of multifamily buildings.
